Volunteer
Volunteer with the League of Women Voters of Black Hawk-Bremer Counties.
Below are some volunteer opportunities for League members or others who want to be involved.

Voter Services
• Voter Registration Events: Host or participate in voter registration activities at local events, farmers markets, colleges, and naturalization ceremonies.
• Voter Guide Production: Help with writing, proofreading, or distributing physical copies of local voter guides.
• Participate in Voter Outreach & Education: Speaking to classes, conducting outreach to specific groups or audiences in the community.
Advocacy & Education
• Legislative Lobbying: Writing letters to the editor, creating groups to call legislators, or meeting with local representatives to discuss the League's stance on specific bills. It also may include organizing letter writing campaigns and phone banks.
• Legislative Forum & Candidate Forum Support: Roles include Moderators (requires training), Timers (keeping candidates to their limits), and Hosts.
Internal Operations
• Communications Committee: Managing and creating social media (Canva enthusiasts are always a hit!), writing the newsletter, or updating the website. Creating promotional material and flyers.
• Membership Committee: Assist with orientation for new members, recruit new members, create opportunities for engagement of new members and membership retention, guide efforts of inclusivity across the organization.
• Grant Writing: Helping the League find funding for specific voter education projects.
• Events: Create events that engage and educate members. Help to manage the annual meeting.
